The Wilmington Inline Hockey Association is a non-profit organization that oversees both recreational and competitive inline hockey leagues in the Cape Fear region.
The recreational league consists of youth ages 4 thru adults. The inhouse league is divided into divisions according to age and skill level: Bronze, Silver, Gold, Platinum, and Diamond. The competitive, travel league consist of 5 divisions: 8 & under, 10 & under, 12 & under, 14 & under, and 16 & under. These teams are known as the “Wilmington Storm.” The mission of the “Storm” is to provide highly skilled and dedicated players an opportunity to play at the competitive level with emphasis on sportsmanship, teamwork, and a winning attitude.

The mission of WIHA is to promote inline hockey in the Cape Fear area in a safe, friendly, and stimulating environment. WIHA strives to assist each player in achieving their goals in an encouraging format. Each player regardless of his/her skill level will be treated with the utmost respect and fairness. We promote team play and good sportsmanship. Most of all we want each player to have fun while enhancing their hockey skills.

The members of the WIHA consists of many volunteers that enable the program to run smoothly. Parents of players are encouraged to get involved.

Both the recreational league and “Wilmington Storm’s” practices and games are held at the family-oriented skating rink, “JellyBeans,” located at 5216 Oleander Drive, Wilmington. The owners of JellyBeans, are strong supporters of inline hockey and promotes both a Fall and Spring league at this rink.
